Join the SAS Discussion Group

Sequoia Audubon maintains a email group for communicating with our members and friends. This list does not replicate any of the current local bird reporting lists, but focuses on Sequoia Audubon information, including announcements of field trips, conservation actions, and reminders of upcoming Sequoia meetings and events.

Sign up is optional, although we hope everyone interested in Sequoia Audubon activities will join. Sign up is easy and you can unsubscribe at any time.

As you may have seen, Yahoo Groups is closing imminently. New posts will no longer be allowed after October 28, and all content will be deleted on December 14.

We are transitioning the Sequoia Audubon Society group to groups.io - the same platform that has hosted the peninsula-birding group for over a year. The transfer will be automatic, and will copy all content and memberships from the existing Yahoo group, maintaining membership preferences as much as possible. You will receive a notice when the transfer is complete. It may take a few days for the automatic transfer to complete though, as they are very backlogged with transfer requests due to the sudden closure of Yahoo.

If you want to beat the rush, you can manually sign up for the new groups.io list yourself. There are 2 ways to do this:

1. Go to https://groups.io/, create a free account (if you don't already have one) and login. Choose "Find or Create a Group" at the top, search for "Sequoia Audubon Society", then choose "Join this Group".

2. Send an email to sequoia-audubon+subscribe@groups.io, from the email address you will use for the subscription.

As of Monday October 28, all meeting, field trip, and organizational notices will only be sent to the new groups.io group.

Hope to see you all on the other side!

If you have any questions about the discussion group contact us.
